4th of July Parade, Picnic and Softball Game

Hooray for the Red, White and Blue!! Our July 4th celebration will start with a softball game in the park next to Stone Island Road from 8 AM til 10:30 AM. If you would like to play just show up with any gear you may have…gloves, balls, bats, bases. This is a rotation type softball-no teams and all adults are welcome no matter your age, sex or skill level. If it’s anything like the Games Day game it should be a hoot.

At 11 on the dot the parade will start. If it has wheels, hoofs or feet it is welcome in the parade. Our Grand Marshall, George Sancha, will be parading along with our very own cheerleaders. There will be horses, motorcycles, golf carts, lawn tractors, vintage cars, convertibles and pretty much anything that rolls. The parade will form in front of 1555 Stone Trail heading east toward Stone Island Road where it will turn right and follow Stone Island Road to the end. So gather up all your flags and other patriotic stuff and DON’T LET THE PARADE PASS YOU BY!!

Where the parade ends, across from the boat ramp, is where the picnic will begin. There will be hotdogs for a $1 donation. Drinks will also be provided. We are planning to have a waterslide and snow cones for the kids. Please bring a covered dish to share, chairs, tables, bug spray, sunscreen and whatever else you might need to spend a relaxing day honoring our great country and enjoying your neighbors.

Contact Pam Baumann for further information: 407-324-0431.

Please no fireworks or sparklers!

"Bud Cabell once took a picture of the sunset over Lake Monroe from his home along Sunset Road on Stone Island. Everybody who saw the photo said that it couldn't be true, it had to be a paint-by-number or airbrushed or something. But those of us who have  walked at sunset under the Spanish moss hanging from the old live oak trees know that it is true....."
